I awoke at 8 in my own bed. Off to a good start.
I knew from the moment that I opened my bleary eyes that I wasn’t going to be doing any walking for a bit.
I had stolen a lot of happiness from today and spent it all last night.
It was the first proper booze up I’ve had since being here and it really was a pleasure. Great bar, great beer and great company. The ideal combination for some very happy, pissed pilgrims.
My German chums suggested making some breakfast. I was very happy about this because, left to my own devices, I would be eating tinned sardines and gagging on disgusting coffee.

I washed my lovely breakfast down with some painkillers and prepared for the day ahead. As rough as I was feeling I didn’t want to spend the entire day in bed so I pulled myself together and we walked like zombies out of the hostel. First stop was a decent coffee somewhere. We ended up underneath an art museum by the water. Really nice little spot. I didn’t take a photo so here is one I ripped off of the internet. Cheers whoever took it.

You could tell we all still felt a bit rough though.
Next stop was a leisurely wander/crawl back towards the hostel. We stumbled upon a market and decided to grab some grub and treat ourselves to a massive meal this evening. Salad, roasted veggies and a chunk of salmon.
We decided on another pit stop after about half a kilometer for a coffee. I also got to see Spain’s new style of motorcycle protection gear. It’s for the distinguished gentleman with a wild streak. Possibly the hells angels accountant?

Felix wanted to get one of his piercings looked at because it wasn’t behaving as it should. He ended up coming out with two more. I think he may be like me, whenever I see life’s shiny things I want to grab them. I was tempted myself. I’ll leave it to you guys to decide. Which one should I get?

When we got back, tired and hungry, the first thing on the agenda was the hair of the dog and some cooking. I did naff all towards it but I did wash everything up at the end. I preferred it that way because I can guarantee that my newfound chums wouldn’t have been as fond of me if we all had food poisoning tomorrow.

Right, I’m off to finish my beer and call it a night. Got a sodding 20km to do tomorrow. Maybe I should drink some water.
…………….nah.
