The day started with a coffee and a budgie parrot thing in a cage. They looked happy enough. Not as happy as me because I’m not in a cage but still, happy enough.

It was another gloomy, rainy start to the day but not nearly as bad as it was yesterday. My wet weather gear actually did its job this time. To be fair to it, yesterday was almost like jumping in to a swimming pool so I’m not surprised it failed me.

The views were pretty today but the hills were a bit of a killer.

I’ve made the executive decision to streamline Bronson. The past few days, after getting wet as well, he has been a right pain in the arse.

We have been boshing out some long days too and he starts to give me jip at about 20km. I’m sending the tent, blow up pillow and blow up mattress to Santiago so I can really enjoy the next week or two. Here is me swearing at him.

Don’t judge me, I’ve carried the git for 675km.
We got to the top of a hill and a rainbow appeared. I made sure to do an awesome shot of it shooting out of my mouth.
We then came across a tree that had fallen on to the path. I was worried that this might mean my Camino was over and I would have to walk back to Irun but I managed to squat down, scramble under and then Bronson gave me a hernia as I got back up again.

When we got in to the town there was a big sand pit in the middle of a square next to a few bars. While I was wondering what is was for a man came out with a horse and started doing some horse magic. One of the tricks was that the horse got on its hind legs and another one was where it followed the man but by walking backwards……….I’m making it sound shit but it was actually pretty cool.

We had a drink then wandered to the post office so I could send off my tent and bits to Santiago and then we checked in to the albergue.
After a shower we ventured out again and got something to eat.
We hadn’t realised but there was another horse concert on in the evening so we finished up our grub and went outside and sat with a couple of other Spanish pilgrims we had been bumping into for the past few days. They were initially going to walk further but they realised that the horse show was on so they decided to stay the evening.

We got a drink and sat outside. It started raining but Spanish lady 1 gave us a brolly so all was well.
The first act of the show was some chick tearing around the sandpit holding a big red towel. It’s annoying I can’t put videos on here (I could actually but it would cost me money) but the music and lighting really got everyone pumped up.

The second episode was a dude with two horses. He was riding around on one bareback and then jumped up and stood on them both while they galloped about.

The third chapter was a tiny little horse doing crazy jumps and kicks. I thought it might try a backflip but it didn’t.
It started raining quite hard after this one and we decided to knock it on the head and retreat back to the warm comfort of the albergue. To be fair, unless the finale of the whole thing was a horse riding another horse riding another horse then the previous acts had been plenty entertaining.
I’m really happy we stumbled across this whole thing today.
I’m currently in the albergue listening to the music outside. It’s quite lovely at the moment but knowing the Spanish it will still be going at 3am and I won’t find it quite as nice.

I don’t know what tomorrow will bring but I’m sure it won’t be another black beauty tribute. We will see though!
BUEN CAMINO
