Squeaky Bed = Fuzzy Head | 20/09/23

I awoke for the 20th time. This time from my stupid alarm and not from the INCREDIBLY noisy beds. Every time someone would make a slight move the beds would protest in a high pitched cry. Really bloody annoying it was. Combined with the previous nights star of the show that was a snorer that rattled the windows I was a rather aggy Jack.

Seriously, the sound of the beds was like a children’s school show where they bring out the little tykes, recorders in hand, ready to blow the parents away with their “skills” yet ultimately making everyone’s ears bleed.

Anyway, I had a very, very lazy beach day planned with my equally as rubbish pilgrim friends. I felt a tiny bit bad about it after speaking to some Austrian girl who had covered the same distance I had done but 7 days faster.

Ah well, she wasn’t on a beach today so who’s the mug now Austrian girl!

Not too much to report today except that I bottled surfing because the waves were higher than my knees and I ate a “salad” out of a tin can.

I decided at 6 to walk to the next town 6km away. Even for me 6pm is a rather late start but I didn’t fancy camping in the rain.

Turned out that the place I went to was full so I ended up camping anyway. Let’s just hope that it holds off until my tent is away. I haven’t put my tent away in the rain yet but I can make an educated guess that it will be crap.

Like I said. Lazy day today so not much to report. I’m currently writing this in my tent with my red night light on. Who knows, I may even have made a few quid by the morning!!

  1. Thanks for the E-mail Jack. No need to apologise or need to pander to the 21st century. I do get the impression that you are enjoying everything – even the hill’s, just a little bit‽
If you come across the railway that runs across the top of Spain, ‘pikkies’ would be very much appreciated. You don’t have to go on it!
I’m doing fine, glaring at the grass trying to persuade it not to grow.
The uncoloured ‘Learn More’ has disappeared from the desktop website view. Have you been tidying?
