I’m Pitching A Tent | 22/09/23

I awoke at 7. My alarm was a downpour of rain that Noah would have been a bit worried about. At 10am I went into the recepción and paid for another night. After walking in the rain yesterday I didn’t want to have another day of it.

I’m glad I did. The rain was constant except for the odd 5 minutes of gorgeous sunshine. I felt like I was being teased.

I thanked the fact that I didn’t really have a timeframe and I was in a position where I didn’t HAVE to get moving.

Jenny and Sandra stopped by to say hello after they had walked from the previous town. They were planning on walking another 4km down the road. We sat there chatting for about an hour with sheets of rain pummeling the street 4 feet away from us. When it didn’t let up they chatted to the staff at the campsite and booked in to a place nearby. I don’t blame them. If I had the option to not walk in the pissing rain I would take it. I mean, I did have the option and I took it!

Micheal left me a voicemail. He is about 22km ahead so chances are there will be no more pictures of handsome Italian men. Sorry guys. Here is one last one. I don’t think he will mind. I’m pretty sure he doesn’t read any of this anyway!

I got myself a goats cheese salad for lunch and spent most of the day reading in my tent.

I have a picture of my tent if you want it?

I don’t really know what else to write as I really haven’t done a lot. I could make something up I guess.

Yeah, I’ll do that.

During the afternoon the rain had subsided a bit so I made my way down to the beach to have a little look. As I approached I noticed about 10 orphans and a puppy in the sea struggling to get back to the shore. I did what anyone would do in my situation and jumped in to save them. As I was swimming out I was grabbing seaweed which I formed into a long rope using my toes. As I got closer I noticed one of them looked hungry so I dived down and quickly killed a shark for its meat.

I then tied my seaweed rope round my feet, made sure they were all holding on and did a perfect butterfly stroke, which is the stupidest and hardest of the strokes, back to land.

I started a fire using some sticks and cooked everyone some food. I was thinking some shark kebabs would go down a treat so I quickly grew some peppers and onions and whipped up the meal. I then sent up some smoke signals and when the helicopters came to the rescue I did an awesome backflip off a rock and headed home through the trees…….swinging on vines.

Here is the beach to validate the story.

Anyway. Tomorrow should be full of equally as incredible stories and tales you will want to pass on to your kids!  But until then……

BUEN CAMINO
