Get going for the people that didn’t get that title.
The alarm went off at 7. It instantly got canceled and we woke up at 9.
I piled out of a saturated tent with coffee and a wee on my immediate agenda. Once placated we pulled off tentys rain cover and hung it up to dry out in the sun.
Google promised a final sunny day to end the heat streak we have had. Tomorrow would be rain but hopefully after that we would be back to glorious skies. Time will tell though.

We can send men to the moon and recreate the sun on earth but no one seems to be able to accurately tell me if it’s going to drizzle tomorrow or not.
While we were waiting we noticed a little hitchhiker on jenny’s bum bag. He was sunning himself without a care in the world. Kind of like me yesterday. I bet he wasn’t thinking about packing up his stuff and walking 17km though.

It was road walking today but the elevation profile wasn’t too bad and the road wasn’t actually that busy.
We saw a bull that, I’m 90% certain, has been on a diet of grain, tourine, creatine and steroids. I got a photo but I’m pretty sure I heard him say “do one jack”

…………lol, heard him say…….herd…….
The clouds were very low over the beach and the city. It looked awesome and provided some well needed cool breeze.

As we were getting closer I noticed some graffiti that I thought was pretty cool so I asked Jenny to take a photo of me in front of it. I tried posing and felt like a right dick as people walked past. You won’t be getting any more photos of me posing. Look at my weird leg angle.

Our walk was going to take us to Serdio. A sleepy little town with not much going on but a good point to rest up for the evening. The Albergue has been closed indefinitely so it was a case of get there then hope everything just works out.
We got to the town and found a nice little bar to sit and chill at while we tried to sort some accomodation.

I had a nice big beer and Jenny had a calimoacho or callimari, maybe combucha. I dunno, red wine with coke.
While we were having a lovely drink Jenny was messaging a lady at an apartment near by. She messaged back saying she had space. We could relax because we had digs for the evening. There is something quite cool about not knowing where you are going to stay the night at 5pm and having to sit down and work it out.
The place we found was quite lovely. There was a hammock outside, a really nice shower and an angry Spanish lady saying “if you give me money I can leave”
Just wonderful.

We chucked our stuff in the room, had a shower and decided on what to do.
Obviously going back to the bar won the contest.
As we sat here drunkenly pondering life and drinking in the Spanish, warm evening I found myself, again, struggling to realise what exactly I was doing. “Normal life” was waiting for me just round the corner but I couldn’t bring myself to acknowledge its presence.
I felt in the moment and the moment felt great.

Oh, and these are jenny’s tan lines from her knee straps.

BUEN CAMINO
